Assistant Vendor Support Location: Plymouth Salary: Circa £18,000 plus benefits Our client is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth and are therefore seeking varying levels of Vendor specialists to join their team. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business and develop a career in vendor management as you do not need previous experience in Vendor Management. Candidates will ideally have a degree and be willing to learn and develop in a progressive and dynamic environment. You will manage mini tender and sourcing requirements, supporting Senior Vendor Manager (SVM) and Head of Vendor Management (HoV) on sourcing projects to provide best in class at best value. Key Accountabilities: Research market and geographies for new supplier options in response to client requests. Engage with suppliers to understand their capabilities, offerings and capacity. Own, source and manage supplier work-tracked enquiries / queries and assist VM's on follow up, track and chase enquires. Assist VM on client projects and other VM requests. Develop relationships with clients and supplier network to build loyalty. Co-ordinate and Assist VM Supplier communications/updates. Log and escalate issues relating to suppliers or on behalf of supplier with the VM to resolve issues and maintain quality standards. Support SVM in collecting and analysing benchmark data. Maintain and update accurate and timely information on appropriate systems (web and/or data bases) in order to check and interrogate data, including management information; supplier details, rates and contract terms. Skills and Experience: Good standard of verbal and written English (minimum GCSE to 'C' and above or equivalent) Good standard of mathematics (minimum GCSE to 'C' and above or equivalent) Excellent business communication skills (verbal and written) Experience in a business-to-business customer focused environment Good organisational / administration skills Ideally basic negotiation or procurement experience Good attention to detail and the ability to interpret data and other information accurately Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines Experience of working as part of a team Able to demonstrate IT expertise and knowledge of data presentation, e.g. use of databases and running reports, excel spread-sheets, graphs etc. This job was originally posted as
