THE ROLE To further develop and evolve the eCommerce platform of Matchesfashion.com, one of the fastest growing eCommerce operations in Europe. The focus of the role will be the development of the Hybris based back-end and web front-end. The right candidate will have at least 18 months full stack development experience with Java Spring and Javascript in a modern e ngineering environment. Experience of ecommerce platforms, especially Hybris, would be advantageous, but a keenness to develop skills in this area is essential. ABOUT YOU Key Skills & Experience Strong skills in Java and Spring MVC. Good knowledge of web development with strong front-end skills in JavaScript, JQuery and HTML. A broad minded approach to technology stacks with a focus on what is the right tool for the job, so the best candidates may have some experience of other languages such as Ruby, Python, PHP or Go. Good knowledge of web services and API’s. Experience of working with an agile methodology such as Scrum or Kanban. DESIRABLE to have knowledge of or expertise in CSS, SASS and responsive design. DESIRABLE to have development experience with Node.js. DESIRABLE to have working knowledge of or expertise in Hybris or other eCommerce platforms. DESIRABLE to have working knowledge of or expertise in TDD and BDD. DESIRABLE to have working knowledge of or expertise in Continuous Integration and DevOps approaches. Personal Qualities Adaptable, the role requires a willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrowly defined role, whether that be full stack development, analysis, testing, documentation, and ideally a desire to be multi-skilled. Passionate about engineering, always striving to personally develop and improve knowledge of the craft. Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision, pro-actively reporting on status and issues. Good communication and time-management skills with the ability to be depended on by colleagues to deliver good quality work in good time. Capable of working to both tactical and strategic timescales, prioritising effectively. Passionate about delivering high quality software that solves real business problems.
