As a FPGA/ASIC Mixed Signal & Digital Design Engineer based in our Bristol office, you’ll design, specify and implement FPGA or ASIC (including mixed signal) designs to relevant European Space Agency flight standards in accordance with relevant Thales Quality Management Standards. This will involve the ability to start from customer requirements and be closely involved with the FPGA/ASIC design and development right through to final delivery. Key responsibilities Deliver defined tasks to budget & schedule Derivation of unit or board level requirements Generate specification, architecture, development and validation plans Analyse and where appropriate identify developments required at EM and EQM to support flight development Support Skill Lead in optimising approaches to engineering processes. Skills, qualifications and experience Degree qualified, preferably MSc and with an electronics bias Experienced electronics engineer in FPGA, ideally with working knowledge of ASIC and ideally from the Space industry, although other industries will be considered Proactive individual keen to optimise engineering processes to reduce costs Contributor to professional exchanges and developing the corporate expertise in software systems engineering Ability to build relationships with colleagues; working cooperatively with others to achieve project goals.
