Job Title : Junior Developer Location: Christchurch, Dorset Salary: DOE We are presenting an exciting opportunity for a Junior Developer to join our client's team, based in Christchurch. The Junior Developer will work in a team responsible for development, maintenance and support of customer facing applications and the core systems that underpin them. You will already have some of the key technical competencies for the role and will follow an agreed training plan to achieve the remainder. The Junior Developer may be required to participate in the on call rota for out of hour's support of IT applications and core systems with secondary support from a developer or senior developer on call. Key Duties: Enhancements Respond to client requests for new features assigned and monitored by the line manager Work with developers and senior developers to develop clear requirements Assist with design recommendations to optimise system efficiency and client satisfaction Assist with producing impacts for the work to be done Develop and test maintainable solutions to meet requirements Implement changes to the live environment under the supervision of the line manager as necessary System Migrations Liaise with the line manager and other developers or senior developers to migrate clients to the latest versions of applications Client Implementations Create data dictionary entries Carry out client customisations Rollout applications to the live environment under the supervision of the line manager as necessary Small Projects Help define the requirements for modules to add new functionality to client systems Assist with identifying the tasks needed to develop requirements Assist with producing impacts for the work to be done Develop and test new functionality Projects Respond to client requests for new features assigned and monitored by the line manager Work with developers and senior developers to develop user stories Assist with design recommendations to optimise system efficiency and client satisfaction Assist with producing impacts for the work to be done Develop and test maintainable solutions to meet requirements Live Support Assist with resolving live incidents to ensure clients receive the highest levels of service Participate in the rota for out of hours support with secondary support from a developer or senior developer on call Training Follow a training plan as agreed with the line manager Ensure that the training plan is kept up-to-date Identify personal development needs in areas relevant to the business and raise these with the line manager to ensure appropriate training can be arranged Other tasks may be required from time to time to fulfil business needs.
