We are looking for candidates who have a basic understanding of engineering/testing/inspection/certification/ Understanding of the health and safety legislation would be good as well. Open to construction industry. Reporting to-Head of Major Accounts. Supporting all the direct sales team. What will you be doing? You will support our sales functions with bid preparation including the production of presentations and bid documentation. You will lead the bid support function and support the Head of Major Accounts to secure large, mainly tendered opportunities and to convert them to a sale. The bids you’ll be working on will be worth over £250k per annum. You will ensure that we offer the most exciting written bid that will stand out from our competitors in the marketplace. By ensuring that the company is registered with all relevant tendering websites you will make sure all opportunities in both the private and public domain are captured. You will play a key part in growing our business. What experience do you need? You’ll be able to demonstrate practical experience of successful bid writing and be able to show us how your contribution to bids has made a difference and positively affected the outcome. Knowledge of the tendering marketplace and processes is paramount, as is the ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of Engineering. It is important to demonstrate a proficiency in producing presentations and therefore you will be skilled in IT and familiar with Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Excellent relationship building skills with customers and other stakeholders is also essential. You will also ideally be familiar with Adobe InDesign. Ideally you will be a member of the Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals, although not essential Key responsibilities You will support the Sales teams with the bid process by: Providing insight and analyses of forthcoming opportunities, and canvassing new ones Undertaking a Bid/No Bid exercise to decide whether to make a submission or not Understanding the Request for Tender, deciding timelines and allocating responsibilities Timely management of tender activities such as reviewing drafts, copy-writing, graphic design and presentation Producing presentations and other collateral Managing quality control Obtaining feedback from purchasers when tenders are unsuccessful in order to improve in future What do we offer you?
