My client, a rapidly expanding manufacturer of industrial automation and materials handling equipment based in Birmingham, are currently looking for a client-facing Continuous Improvement Engineer as part of a strategic expansion of their service offering. The successful Continuous Improvement Engineer will join a privately-owned European business, with operations on each continent and revenue streams in various high-growth sectors. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will take on a newly created role within the UK Service team, created to improve customer processes, uplift capacity and increase efficiency, thereby offering additional value to customers. Together with customers and colleagues you will analyse processes and data on customer sites, as well as the existing automation solution, and make improvement proposals, where requested also supporting the implementation of the improvements. You will develop tools and methods to measure and monitor system and process performance, where necessary you create, improve and modify the execution processes. You will act operationally, tactically and strategically, able to present the benefits of a specific solution in a convincing and constructive way. The successful Continuous Improvement Engineer will have experience working either in automotive or FMCG manufacturing, or within warehousing, logistics and post or parcels sectors. Your experience and capability will include: Rounded Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement experience; Strong analytical skills, combined with an entrepreneurial approach – you’re not afraid to take the initiative and make decisions; Excellent communication skills and will demonstrate the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels; You will enjoy solving complex problems and will demonstrate the ability to think creatively; The successful Continuous Improvement Engineer will receive a salary of approximately £45,000 plus benefits; a car or car allowance is a possibility dependent on experience. While based in Birmingham, you will be willing to travel to customer sites during the week as your role requires.
