Automation Engineer About the role: The role is to join the existing team and help to grow the coverage globally by building automation solutions. This division will support the evolution of technology platforms and tools, manage and maintain our production plant, and ensure the implementation and adherence to proper operational controls to manage risk. We’re looking for an experienced QA Automation Test Engineer to build automation solutions and deliver a first-class technology service within QD and Production Management to one of our key clients within the banking and finance sector. This will be a permanent position based at one of client's sites in Glasgow. You may also be required to travel to the client's office in London when and where required so flexibility to travel at short notice is preferred. Responsibilities: · Defining and executing test strategies for products delivered by the ATS organization · Scripting languages such as Python, PERL and the Fix protocol. · Development and Test automation tools/frameworks · Unix/Linux Administration · Unify their various automation testing methodologies (Python, Java, C++ etc). · Ensure full testing coverage & compliance all trading (Cash, FX, etc) · All of areas of testing: Functional, Control, Interface and Stress Testing · About you: · 3-6 years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation · 2-4 years of development of server side automated testing solutions (preferred) · Technical experience in Python, PERL or related scripting language FIX protocol preferred · Proficient knowledge of basic coding principles · Experience working with source control / defect tracking and continuous integration systems · Adopt best practices when developing automation code including comment documentation, maintainability and datadriven development · Continuous integration skills · Experience with build tools such as Jenkins is preferable · Ability to partner with peers and management team to continuously improve testing methods, process, techniques and use of tools · A quick learner, being able to adapt to a fast paced heterogeneous environment and acquire necessary knowledge to determine required solutions. · Knowledge of trading life cycle with exposure to trading and matching engines will be preferred · Basic understanding of capital markets, electronic trading, order flow and execution, FIX protocol · Detail oriented and is able to work in a fast paced environment · Background in banking companies · Strong verbal and written communication English.
