The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Manager to take responsibility for the running of our University Sales Department. The main purpose of the role is to hire space at Universities throughout the UK for seasonal staging events and recruiting teams of staff to sell posters and prints at these events. Working to an agreed budget, you will travel to universities and other external venues to negotiate and secure contracts to obtain the best possible locations and rent agreements in order to generate maximum sales and revenue. You will oversee the design and production of advertising posters and materials, working with the universities to ensure maximum promotion of sales and highlighting opportunities for increased revenue. The role will also involve liaison with customers and partner companies to highlight forthcoming new releases and develop poster ranges to further increase sales. You will manage a small team which will increase significantly in size during the seasonal events and you will take responsibility for the recruitment and training of all additional staff. Key skills and experience: Previous supervisory / managerial experience Experience of managing remote based staff an advantage Experience of staff training Experience / knowledge of logistics planning Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Strong problem solving and analytical skills The ability to multi task and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines Excellent negotiating and planning skills Highly organised Confident and approachable, able to build strong working relationships with customers, team members and suppliers Excellent communication skills, written and verbal Self motivated with a 'can do' attitude Flexibility Requires a full, valid driving licence Previous knowledge or experience of working with Student Unions and an understanding of the University system an advantage This job was originally posted as
