Project Engineer - QA Welding Our chosen business partner are a leading manufacturer of heat exchange equipment. They are currently experiencing a steady period of growth and are looking to add to their engineering team. Key Responsibilities; To co-ordinate the project from Sales handover to project completion, ie successfully execute the contract to timescales (be it manufactured product from our factory or site services). Day to day liaison with client and internal functions – inc manufacturing (UK and occasionally China) engineering, design engineers, sales, administration and draughtperson. Understand the principles of and spend time assisting current accredited weld co-ordinator (need good base understanding of weld qualifications for manufacturing and site work). Purchase materials as required, liaise with the client and their representatives, suppliers and our factory. Work to ensure that documentation and contract paperwork is to a high standard. Monitor and control budgets – through project reports and time schedules. Be the company’s contact with the client during the contract execution and close out phase (site and manufactured products). Co-ordinate the activity of engineering, Q.A., purchasing, planning, manufacturing, sub-contractors etc to deliver contracts within agreed time, cost and quality parameters. Allocate and approve contract budgets to the functions monitoring and controller spend in these areas and ensure the contract is administered in accordance with the company and contract specific requirements. Establish effective client and internal relationships. In addition to contract - assist weld co-ordinator, weld QA for c25% of time and develop in this are. Key Requirements; HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management or several years’ experience in a similar environment is essential. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Project Management would be desirable. A complete understanding of the management of contracts in engineering manufacturing is essential Weld experience, weld qualifications and procedure knowledge. Computer literate is essential. Experience of heavy engineering and boilers, economiser, heat transfer products. This job was originally posted as
