The Company Our client is a multi-award winning 1st Tier automotive supplier based in the North East. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, proactive Senior Logistics Controller. The successful applicant will be responsible for effectively leading the PMC function to delivery functional targets. Particular emphasis will be placed on supply chain management activities including, Parts Control, 3rd party warehouse and transport and exporting. The Role Effectively plan resources to ensure functional performance is maintained Manage the delivery of functional objectives and targets Maintain inventory levels in accordance with global targets Effective control on departmental spend Effective run out management to minimise obsolescence Ensure delivery of products and services in accordance with customer requirements Manage closure of Customer delivery concerns (SAIS) Manage new project introductions Ensure that the business system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with international standards and customer specific requirements Manage the performance of people effectively, in accordance with policies and procedures Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress Ensure that information is provided accurately and on time to internal departments, external suppliers and customers when required Create, monitor and control functional budgets and ensure cost effectiveness Ensure accurate functional financial forecasts on a monthly basis Ensure that all processes are managed to a safe standard Ensure department ZIP audit plan is achieved Lead improvement activities, VSM, IDS, QC Story, etc The Person The person who is recruited for this role will therefore need to be a proactive thinker and have the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines. You must possess excellent management, communication and organisational skills to ensure on-going success. In order to effectively carry out the role you must be flexible and able to travel to meet the operating needs of the business. Experience of working within a similar role within the Automotive industry or high volume warehouse / manufacturing industry Working knowledge or project planning systems (CIPPS / ANPQP) and MRPII / ERP systems Excellent planning, organisational and Communication skills to meeting Customer and business needs Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Adhere to systems and procedures Adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental business systems Adhere to world class housekeeping standards It would be advantageous but not essential if candidates are educated to a Degree level or equivalent experience.
