The successful candidate will have the relevant skills and experience specified below for this 6 month temporary contract based in the North East/Benton Park View. Job Description: Support the implementation of IT systems to support new modernised and existing lT services within the IT Infrastructure environment. Document infrastructure standards and guidelines. Review design and document configuration of Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager. Review project infrastructure and associated deliverables. Design and implement support model on new infrastructure. Assist the production and review detailed technical designs. Ensure infrastructure is optimised to minimise TCO. Manage technical resources and associated delivery. Attend project review meetings as required. Key Tasks & Deliverables: Leads and undertakes the process of bringing in-house the skills and documented processes required for the on-going delivery of the Push and Pull integration service. As part of this role there will be the need to develop in-house capability not only in the support of Push and Pull service but also working with the wider team supporting Pensions, CamLite and the VME-R programme. The role will look to provide support for the Push and Pull service to ensure on-going delivery of the service is maintained including undertaking incident analysis and resolution, further investigation into the root cause of any problems identified with the service and implementation of a fix. The candidate will work to the Product Owner General Responsibilities Provide day-to-day management of a defined sub-set of the functions and services of Product Management. Support and administration of infrastructure solutions and services, physical or virtual, resident in DWP or 3rd party facilities according to industry and organisational best practise standards and service requirements and KPIs throughout the lifecycle, including; • creating and maintaining service documentation • performing all routine tasks according to process and checklists as identified within Knowledge Transfer • performing and/or overseeing the administration and support of PxP infrastructure solutions and services • monitoring of infrastructure services and alerts and taking appropriate action • managing and progressing of incidents and problems, acting as 3rd line support for incidents, problems and changes to infrastructure solutions and services • provide technical support and assistance • work with projects ensuring delivery of requisite non-functional requirements • continual service improvement • Input into technological roadmaps • Input and responsibility for the team’s resource management • coach and mentor junior team members to assist the delivery of and support of the PxP service • provision of first class service • consistent levels of capability available as required by the organisation • continuous personal development progressed in line with organisation requirements Experience Required: Essential • Build and configuration, administration and support of infrastructure technologies and solutions – hardware, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages/solutions, virtual and cloud including XML, web services, REST API • ITIL Service Operation (particularly Request Fulfilment, Incident/Problem/Change Management) and with significant experience of Service Transition • monitoring and event management, escalating and/or resolving issues highlighted • data management regulations and policies and Information Lifecycle Management frameworks and solutions • working expirence with supporting and maintaining Intergration technologies • Working exprince of the following: UNIX, LINUX XML, XSL stylesheets and XSLT XML-based RPC (JAX-RPC) web services, WSDL, Java 2 SDK, Log4J REST SOAP API Desirable • other areas of technology and solutions – experience and technical capability across projects and service lifecycle e.g. applications development, DevOps, solutions architecture • service reporting - production of management information and reports, dashboards etc. • overseeing teams supporting services that are aligned to the business strategy and operational requirements • exposure to structured problem management and troubleshooting • experience of ITIL Service Transition • awareness of project methodologies such as Agile, PRINCE2 • experience of supporting Unix and Windows servers SFIA 6 Skills Framework • Data management – Level 3 • Project management – Level 4 • Systems installation /decommissioning – Level 3 • Availability management – Level 4 • IT infrastructure – Level 3 The successful candidate will have a valid Disclosure of Scotland or be willing to apply for one on CV submission.
