ENGIE are recruiting for a Commercial Manager to be based in the North West. This is a permanent full time role (working 37.5 hours per week) and on offer will be a competitive salary and company car. This role will report into the Sector Commercial Director. To be successful in this role you must provide the following: Minimum of 3 year history of employment (including information which can be verified for any gaps) If you do not have 3 years previous employment, a professional reference must be provided (obtained from a Medical Practitioner, Officer of the Armed Forces, Teacher, Lecturer, Lawyer, Bank Manager, Civil Servant etc) Proof of identity & eligibility to work in the UK which must include : Photographic I.D - Passport or Driving License. Passport and all relevant work permits or NI Number information / proof and full Birth certificate If no legal photographic documentation is owned then a passport photo which has been signed and verified by any of the above professionals will be required. This needs to show their title, signature and contact details. 2 proofs of address from within the last 3 months (i.e. council tax bill, bank statement, utilities bills). Any required qualifications or driving licence if required for the role. The main duties and responsibilities are: Identifying, monitoring and reporting on risks. Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc). Management of variation/change control. Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information. Leading governance within the contracts to ensure that the requirements of the contract and ENGIE’s own internal governance processes are being complied with. Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among all other ENGIE colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services etc.). Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation. Enforcing commercial compliance (by audit and support against ENGIE’s Minimum Commercial Standards). Supporting the management of cash under their contract sector. Being professional and equitable negotiators and dispute resolvers but ultimately: Rebutting unfounded contractual claims Taking a key role in the management of contractual claims / disputes with clients and other third-parties Production of claims to any potential contentious contractual issue that may arise. Carry out CVR reporting for any bespoke major projects that do not relate to any main contracts terms and conditions. The requirement to ensure full commercial governance to all subcontractors. To provide day to day commercial support to the account management teams. To support the development and delivery of compelling commercial proposals to existing and new Clients to persuade them to extend current contracts and enter into new contracts including: Building strong relationships with senior Client representatives. Identifying and developing value adding propositions to enhance the services offered / delivered by ENGIE. Supporting the identification, management and mitigation of risks at all levels associated with such a significant bidding process. Leading governance within the bidding process contracts to ensure that the company’s requirements of the contract are being complied with. Suitable commercial experience within a similar industry sector Educated to degree/ diploma level in either Law, Surveying (Building/Quantity), or the Built Environment (FM, Land). Understanding and practical application of base UK law applicable to Commercial (Construction Act etc). Ideally a member or training to be member of a chartered institution. Excellent communicator Excellent financial acumen with an ability to analyse complex data and documentation with accuracy Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment Sound understanding of risk analysis/management PC Literate with knowledge of MS applications e.g. Word, Excel Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
