Taking the lead in production efficiency and responsible for creating strategy - You’ll already be experienced within a similar role to that of a Continuous Improvement Engineer and ready for your next challenge, based at this leading manufacturing facility in the Sutton in Ashfield area on North Nottinghamshire. Essential Skills & Attributes of a Continuous Improvement Engineer: Proven experience from within a varied engineering environment, with FMCG experienced desirable Recognised engineering qualification (ideally graduate in mechanical engineering) Ability to work as part of a team, and communicate efficiently at all levels including senior management and production teams Used to bringing data and methods together, to interpret and create solid action plans Able to manage budgets and work to strict timescales Understanding of maintenance philosophies and techniques along with experience of implementing these principles LSS Green Belt or similar Ideally you’ll have been working within an engineering environment, used to working with a variety of different materials and manufacturing processes. Communication must be a natural and top priority for you. As a CI Engineer, you will be accountable for ensuring efficient production, through management of maintenance, training and CI techniques. You will also be responsible for creating a strategy to reduce cost whilst improving safety and quality standards. Key responsibilities as the Continuous Improvement Engineer include: Setting engineering standards, ensuring that all Safety and Quality requirements are exceeded Management of the department engineering team to ensure a high level of service and support is delivered Managing the training requirements of the department engineering team, identifying skill gaps and solutions to resolve issues Developing and deliver high quality engineering maintenance plans to drive performance improvements Ensuring Root Cause Analysis is carried out following equipment failure to eliminate recurrent issues on line Managing engineering budget Developing and implementing capital projects Implementing and developing best practices for cost reduction and continuous improvement Introducing LEAN tools to improve and standardise methods of working (TPM, 5S & SMED) Controlling of contractors Ensuring Succession plan is in place, with an emphasis on supporting the apprenticeship programme Establishing key relationships with suppliers Salary Information Expected around £40-44k per annum usual benefits commonly associated with a company of this size.
