The Role We have a great opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Administrator to join our friendly team in a well-established engineering business.The successful candidate will take on the full range of purchasing duties in support of our Buyer. Responsibilities will include: · Building excellent business relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors and with the other TP Group Purchasing Departments. · Negotiating terms (including price, delivery and conditions of purchase) and placing purchase orders for materials, services and sub-contracts. · Managing spares procurement and delivery. · Expediting orders. · Managing import requirements. · Monitoring supplier performance, supplier records and the approved supplier list. · Maintaining records and ensuring that relevant procedures are followed at all times. · Continuous improvement of the Procurement service to the business. About You Essential requirements for this role: · At least 2 years’ experience of purchasing or sales within an engineering or contracting environment. · Sound negotiating skills. · Good understanding of the basics of contract law. · Excellent teamworking skills and able to build good working relationships with suppliers and colleagues at all levels of the organisation. · Able to work on own initiative. · Excellent IT skills (including Microsoft office). · Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK. The following are preferred, but not essential: · Purchasing qualifications or equivalent. · Experience of improving working processes. · Experience of the metalworking business.
