Due to continued and ambitious growth plans, our client is currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in New Barnet. This is a pivotal role within the company, providing a high quality, technical service across a portfolio of contracts, developing and nurturing client relationships and ensuring profitability for the company. Working alongside the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor t he role will involve: · Providing a high quality technical/commercial service from pre-contract to final account within groundworks and infrastructure projects; · Ensuring on-site works meet client expectations; · Ensuring all variations are agreed and paid; · Management of all sub-contractor processes and payments, valuations, variations, interim payment applications and final accounts; · Maintaining good cash flow and the timely receipt of payments; · Reporting including monthly cost/value analysis, project completion cost/value forecasts, material and other reconciliation etc; · Maintaining accurate records on projects and ensuring communication is maintained; · Effectively dealing with client queries and developing sustainable client relationships. The successful candidate will have a proven background in Quantity Surveying within Groundwork/Civil Engineering/RC Frames with at least 2 years’ experience. Knowledge of the financial management of groundworks and infrastructure construction techniques is essential. In addition, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiating skills with the ability to build long term, professional relationships. Good IT skills including MS Word, Excel are a must. Membership of a Professional body would be an advantage, but is not essential.
