My client is a leading manufacturer within its field. Due to their success they are now looking to appoint a Purchasing Assistant. Role/Responsibility: As a purchasing assistant you will be responsible for the following areas: The ordering of all purchased items The running of the following reports to ensure product availability; The processing of purchase requisitions using Axapta to place purchase orders The transmission of Purchase Orders to suppliers via internet, telephone, e-mail and fax The organisation and filing of purchase orders and additional paperwork The processing of order acknowledgements ensuring that delivery and pricing information is as per the purchase order The resolution of order queries both internally and with suppliers The resolution of invoice queries for the business in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager The progressing of orders with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and chasing overdue deliveries where appropriate Sourcing of materials where required The generation of vendor monitoring data and the quarterly issue of supplier monitoring letters to the supply base The management of stationery in conjunction with the nominated stationery supplier The setting up and maintenance of items on the Axapta system Being first point of contact for internal and external queries Skills/Qualifications: Good written and verbal communication skills, both to internal and external customers Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office to an intermediate level An ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team Effective problem solving skills Strong organisational skills Good numeracy and literacy skills Ability to meet strict deadlines This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66764586
