BPL has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join the IT team within this leading Pharmaceutical Company, which is currently growing due to significant investment. The site is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and has free parking available to all employees as well as the other available benefits: Performance Related Bonus Pension & Life Assurance Health Services Discounts Scheme 25 days holiday bank holidays On call allowance (1 week in 6) Reporting into the IT Infrastructure Manager, the main purpose of this position is: Provide 3rd Line IT Support Services to the organisation Develop the IT Infrastructure under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager Monitor the health and configuration of Servers, Infrastructure and associated systems Provide on call support services for one week in six Key Duties and Responsibilities will include: Support Services Project Work Provide 3rd Line Desktop, Server and Network Support to the organisation Log all actions in the Service Desk software package Respond to and resolve support tickets within SLA's Maintain and develop PXE imaging systems with Desktop Support Be a subject matter expert for Desktop and Server based systems Assist and cover Network Operations Engineer with monitoring and maintaining: Physical & Virtual Servers VMware SAN LAN/WAN Firewall Security Software Backups Participate in architecture design meetings, utilising experience to contribute to the best possible design Execute projects as both an individual and as a member of a project team Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, including their documentation Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale Communication Liaise with employees at all levels, including those in other continents Liaise with technical resources (IT and other 3rd party suppliers) Work directly with 3rd party suppliers Communicate user feedback to IT and other relevant business departments Liaise with QA on IT quality and validation issues The successful candidate will: have completed a degree in an IT related subject or gained at least 4 years service within a Server and Desktop administration role. have strong Microsoft Server, Desktop and Active Directory Skills. possess good communication skills experience of VMWare, SANs experience of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013, preferably in a hybrid configuration experience of VLAN's, routing and switching in a Cisco environment is an advantage effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills ability to execute activities without a lot of supervision displays a positive and professional outlook, especially in stressful and fast paced environments If you feel that you would be a good fit and that you meet the above requirements, please apply today.
