Head of Field Marketing required by Cognizant to manage the UK&I FM team and take responsibility for the Public Sector industry vertical. Cognizant Marketing is structured into Field Marketing, Corporate Marketing and Corporate Communications: ? Field Marketing is responsible for setting the strategic vision, management and execution of Field Marketing programmes. ? Corporate Marketing is accountable for Advertising and Brand ? Corporate Communications is responsible for PR and AR. Summary of Role This role is to lead the Cognizant Field Marketing team with additional responsibility for the Public Sector industry vertical across UK&I The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic vision, management and execution of programmes in the UKI. An in-depth knowledge of the Public Sector industry vertical and experience marketing to this industry from a professional services perspective is vital. In addition you will have day to day management responsibilities for a small FM team. A key objective is to develop and implement marketing strategies and plans to drive lead generation for Cognizant’s business. Although the role is primarily focused on the UK and Ireland market, because of the global nature of the sector there will be an occasional need to collaborate with colleagues across Europe and North America, hence experience across Europe and NA is required. This role will also involve collaboration with all other industry vertical markets and will provide the opportunity for a senior marketing professional to devise the strategy and lead the implementation and delivery in cross-UK programmes. Key Objectives 1. Image & Awareness – enhance the external perception of Cognizant – the value proposition, offerings and point of competitive differentiation. Some experience of brand integration would be beneficial. 2. Market & Client Development – manage and deliver a number of Client Centric Marketing (CCM) campaigns and develop underpenetrated markets across the UK&I. 3. Lead Generation – build a local lead management process from creation, validation, qualification to follow-up to build a substantial and active deal pipeline. 4. Sales Support – work with the Client Partners and Sales Leads on securing the major “Must Win Deals” in the Public Sector and Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing and Logistics in the UKI region. During the RFP processes, develop competitively differentiated win strategies and bring the best of Cognizant to the proposal process. Key Responsibilities ? Provide value-added input into concept development, budgeting, implementation and performance measurement for all Public Sector and Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing and Logistics UKI marketing programmes. ? Prioritise and execute joint marketing and communications with Public Sector highest priority clients that have been identified in the vertical business strategy and sales plans. ? Provide marketing counsel to UK leadership regarding integrated marketing, including image, relationship development, competitive analysis, buyer values, alliance dialogues and lead generation. ? Advise sales teams on ways to leverage and promote the integrated marketing & sales function to secure the sale, thereby providing a unique and differentiated proposition for Cognizant sales teams, delivering business value and outcomes to clients. ? Act as Public Sector resident marketing focal point, developing and managing internal communications for the geography, to include sales activity, policy updates, best practices and news on wins. ? Link closely with the global / European Field Marketing function in sharing and promoting marketing tools and credentials. ? Drive innovation and be a leader in advancing marketing techniques and approaches in line with the Digital outlook with the end consumer in mind ? Create and develop marketing collateral and ensure a localised content pipeline e.g. industry speeches, presentations, hand outs, fact sheets, videos, credentials, thought leadership and PoVs and externally approved credentials and references to secure the sale. ? Manage agency and contractor resources and third party service providers e.g. approved agencies, designers, writers, media / PR, telemarketing agencies. ? Define and track metrics to assess effectiveness of all Field Marketing programmes and initiatives. ? Plan and manage investment and budget items. Ensure a measurable Marketing ROI. ? Ensure the integrity of Public Sector UKI Client Databases and the input of data. ? Ensure that all global marketing policies and procedures are followed. Skills required ? Experience in professional services B2B marketing and business development within Public Sector industry ? Deep and proven understanding of the consulting, technology and outsourcing industries, both within the UK and internationally. ?General Field Marketing Knowledge and Skill Requirements ? Strong business acumen and knowledge of Cognizant’s area of business and overall business strategy. ? Thorough understanding and skills in strategic Field Marketing and deep industry expertise is vital. ? Thorough understanding and ability to apply marketing concepts, branding and message development skills and drive innovation within marketing ? Global perspective and understanding of business marketplace. ? Prior experience with Salesforce and marketing automation tools. ? Promote collaboration while possessing strong project management skills – using project management tools ? Budget management and financial reporting skills. ? Passion for thought-through and well-executed deliverables in support of Cognizant business strategy. ? Negotiation, mediation and conflict management skills to resolve complex or disputed issues. ? Able to influence executives within Marketing through relationship building and executive-level presence. ? Leadership skills — supervision, mentoring and managing Cognizant specialists/analysts and contractors. ? Ability to develop and apply creative, workable solutions to project-related issues. ? Excellent oral and written communications skills. ? Ability to work autonomously and independently. ? Ability to manage projects under tight deadlines.
