Assistant Buyer

My client in South Northamptonshire is currently looking for an Assistant Buyer to cover maternity leave. Salary: £17,000 - £20,000 depending on experience. Job Purpose: To be responsible for day to day purchasing tasks as part of a team, including: • Validate MRP demand and raise Purchase Orders for items generated by SAGE MRP • Raise Purchase Orders in response to Manual requisitions • Reconcile and chase order acknowledgements • Ensure Acknowledgement details match the PO and record on Sage • Expedite Open orders, rescheduling as required • Liaise with Sales / Customer Services on any discrepancies with delivery dates between the Purchase Order and the required date • Ensure open order reports are sent each week to suppliers • Contact suppliers to check price and availability • Liaise with NCR / Quality Department to solve and support any supplier related issue • Maintain data integrity relating to purchasing on SAGE • Cover for other department members when necessary Key Skills: • Basic understanding of purchasing concepts • Self organised and team orientated • Be a confident, clear and concise communicator • Fully Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word) Advantageous Skills: • SAGE 200 • Experience in Purchasing department • MRP Systems knowledge Important Personal attributes: • Accurate, diligent, versatile and flexible FRS strives to be an equal opportunities employer, and is committed to treating all applicants alike.
