An outstanding and unique opportunity for a Project Accountant has arisen in the Group's Hertfordshire office in Hemel Hempstead, on a full-time permanent basis. DAI Group is a for-profit US-based organisation which aims to tackle fundamental social and economic development problems caused by inefficient markets, ineffective governance, and instability. DAI works with a wide range of clients, including national and local governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, private corporations, and philanthropies. The organisation is currently operating 100 projects in 160 counties across the globe. Reporting to the Project Accounting Supervisor, the Project Accountant's primary responsibility is to manage an exciting portfolio of development projects across the globe, including monthly reporting of budget vs. actual profit, cash flow management and monthly forecasting. You will be expected to work closely with internal Project Managers and external Project & Finance staff, and will also be expected to develop a deep understanding of all aspects of the projects in their own portfolio. Key responsibilities: -Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual forecast by project -Manage project cash flows -Preparation of monthly accounts by project -Monthly reconciliation of all field returns (financial & labour) -Timely preparation of project sales invoices and ensuring payment is received in a timely manner -Dealing with Associates and Sub-Contractor agreements (including locals hired in the field) -Authorisation of project related invoices/costs -Calculation of Project profit share due to partners where applicable -Involvement in Quarterly Performance Reviews with the wider Project Team and preparation for an attendance at Quarterly Financial Reviews. -Establish strong working relationships with clients (DIFD/EC Frameworks) -Deal with client sponsored audits -Develop strong working relationships with Project Managers and Field Staff -Build and maintain strong working relationships with Project Accountants and the wider finance team -Ensure that all projects are properly set up and processed on Oracle -Support PO/procurement process on Oracle -Develop an understanding of the Timesheet Module on Oracle -Proficient Microsoft Office User The successful candidate will meet the following criteria: -Project Accounting/ Management Accounting Experience -Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure -Strong analytical skills and reasoning skills -Excellent interpersonal skills -Ability to prioritise and multi-task -Self-motivated, goal-oriented with a sense of urgency and the desire to develop -Experience in professional services/construction -Interest in working in International Development -Oracle experience Please apply immediately if you feel you meet the criteria above.
