Our client based in North Hertfordshire are seeking a talented, insightful and ambitious Consultant Mechanical Engineer with a track record over a period of years of creating insight that sets the direction in research, technology or advanced product development projects. You will take leadership roles in the development of new medical devices by drawing on your engineering insight, analysis, creativity, initiative and drive. Our client's purpose is to innovate. Working on numerous projects simultaneously, you will input at varying levels within multi-disciplinary teams. Whether it is developing disruptive technology, or creating innovative products, they routinely realise both the company and their clients' most ambitious visions. You will have a 1st or Upper 2nd class degree from a leading university in mechanical engineering or related discipline and a higher degree would be an advantage. You will have a very strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including analytical, theoretical, experimental and creative capabilities and a track record over a period of years of creating insight that sets the direction in research, technology or advanced product development projects with a strong ability to communicate the value of your work confidently and authoritatively to senior business leaders across client organisations. You will have professional experience that demonstrates an ability to lead and a drive to succeed and a desire to improve the quality of your work, to develop new skills and to take increasing responsibilities. Experience of leading novel mechanical device development projects would be an advantage Responsibilities Taking ownership of and responsibility for client requirements by responding to detailed technical challenges and selecting the most appropriate solution. Making a direct contribution to advanced technology and engineering design in the development of new products. Providing technical and opinion leadership as you contribute to project teams, client organisations and business presentations. Working collaboratively, your approach, reliability and dedication will enable you to effectively integrate with teams of engineers, designers and physicists both inside TTP and in the client's organisation. You will establish and maintain high standards of performance throughout your work, based on your ability to effectively resolve and communicate complex technical solutions. Your work will display quality, honesty and integrity at all levels, in particular to address the standards of design rigour that are required to develop successful devices.
