Network Administrator Slough 2 nd /3 rd line support Enthusiastic System Administrator to join on a permanent basis. You will be joining a professional services company with sites in London and Slough. Job Purpose To provide 2 nd and 3 rd line desktop, server and network support to the organisation. Log all actions in the Service Desk Software package and respond and resolve ticket requests on demand. Act as Network Operations Engineer monitoring and maintaining: - Physical and Virtual Servers - Hyper-V - SAN - LAN/WAN - Firewalls - Backups - DR Participate in architecture design meetings, utilising experience to contribute to the best possible design. Execute projects as both an individual and as a member of a project team. Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, including their documentation. Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale Ensure the planning and maintenance of a robust backup and DR system. Communication Liaise with employees at all levels across both sites Liaise with technical resources (IT and other 3rd party suppliers) Work directly with 3rd party suppliers Communicate user feedback to IT and other relevant business departments Technical Competencies: · have completed a degree in an IT related subject or gained at least 4 years service within a Server and Desktop administration role. · Have strong Microsoft Server, Desktop and Active Directory Skills. · possess good communication skills · experience of VMs and SANs · experience of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2013, preferably in a hybrid configuration · experience of VLAN's, routing and switching in a Cisco environment is an advantage · effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills · ability to execute activities without a lot of supervision · displays a positive and professional outlook, especially in stressful and fast paced environments This job was originally posted as
