Our client, a top tier, global pharmaceutical company with significant and growing animal health business in the UK is looking for veterinary surgeons to work with customers, delivering training and product information in a clinical setting. Job Purpose The role of the UK & Ireland Technical Consultants is to be a leader in the therapeutic areas that are aligned to the Companion Animal business strategy and to manage the successful implementation of support activities and initiatives in order to maximize current and future sales of our clients products. This position is a cross-functional role requiring the successful candidate to have the ability and flexibility to work across species units in technical areas, engage with the needs of marketing and sales teams, work with and provide local assistance to regional and global colleagues in sales, marketing, regulatory and r&d roles and interact with all customers from end customer (animal owner / keeper), veterinary practice staff and key opinion leaders. This will involve: Internal close liaison with UK sales and marketing to ensure activities are aligned with strategy and correct technical messaging. Also contact with regional and global colleagues to maintain and develop technical strategy. Externally to build a relationship with key customers and opinion leaders so that our client is perceived as a technical partner of choice. The UK technical consultant is works both independently and as part of the Companion Animal technical team. All TC's are expected to work with immediate team members and leadership team of the equine and CA business units and will contribute at regular meetings to business strategy. Job Functions Work closely with rest of technical team providing support, coaching and training in areas of expertise to other technical colleagues in a collaborative approach. Provide training, coaching and support to the sales teams at meetings and through regular dual calling Develop relationships with key customers and KOLs and work with them to develop mutually beneficial opportunities Work with marketing to develop appropriate support materials and programs (presentations, detail aids, technical information sheets, meeting roadshows etc) and to be part of the approval process Provide technical support to customer inquiries and adverse event reports including providing the data for appropriate pharmacovigilance reporting Work within local and company guidelines of compliance and ethics and due diligence in interactions with customers, sponsorship and support of external companies and when developing materials in association with marketing and sales colleagues. Requirements Veterinary qualification Minimum of 3 years practicing veterinary surgeon in companion animal practice in the UK. Business acumen and results driven Demonstrated success in persuasion, influence and negotiation skills Demonstrated ability impart technical/scientific knowledge at appropriate levels Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and interpersonal Organizational skills and time management skills Ability to develop long-term business relationships Flexible to learning new products and diseases over time Computer literate Evening/Weekend programs with customer occur regularly Some overnight travel may be required Involvement in out of hour's rota to provide technical support and fulfill pharmacovigilance reporting requirements to customers.
