Our client, part of a specialist group of companies, operates as a leader within the events management sector, delivering valuable, innovative and high quality services to the UK’s most prestigious sporting events and the largest festivals. The industry is extremely fast paced and is evolving quickly with the use of new technology and social media, providing ongoing opportunity for their further development as a brand leader in their field. The industry has now become an all year round proposition with events throughout the calendar, although there is a significant peak during the spring to late summer period. The role is to take proactive ownership, in support of the Head of Procurement, for the procurement of new and existing products as well is supporting growth through new products and customers. The Group is very well established within the sector, offering a loyal existing supplier/customer base and many, years of growth, but they’re just scratching the surface of what could be achieved, meaning significant opportunity exists for this role to add value both proactively and reacting to the business requirement. The group is made up of a number of operations, each leading the way in their own specialist area of this exciting market, often work collaboratively but also focussed upon standalone business development. This role will support each of these businesses, focussing upon and driving in new, effective, processes and procedure and developing the free flow of communication between all stake holders. The main focus for the role will be to: · Full profit and loss responsibility for on a range of 200 food and beverage items · Undertake the procurement of product to achieve a high level of quality · Review all products and suppliers to maximise cost saving opportunities · Drive business growth from new and existing products · Negotiate pricing to achieve long term sustainable margins and profit · Maintain and deliver quarterly a complete product price list for customers · Complete management of stock to include fulfilment of all orders and managing contingency supply sources if there are issues with the existing supply chain · Industry benchmarking of competitor products ensuring best price selection · Work with internal customers across the group to ensure the range and specifications for each product meet quality, customer and logistical requirements. · Maintain accurate records of all agreements and transactions · Management of Supplier / Vendor schedules ensuring optimal stock inventory levels are maintained. · Monitor supplier performance, undertaking audits as required and resolve any non-conformance issues If you’re a successful Buying professional, with a proven track record within the food & beverage sector and feel that this exciting opportunity could be for you, we’re keen to hear from you – we’re actively recruiting this position now – please apply without your CV, without delay This job was originally posted as
