Working as a Supply Chain Manager you will have the opportunity to lead and develop a multisite existing team of transactions buyers making sure all targets and objectives are met. This role reports into the Head of Procurement and will be a key stakeholder within the Thales team. The successful candidate for this role must have prior management / leadership experience within a transactional buying community, is ambitious with a track record in excellent stakeholder management and equipment/service delivery. This role will be responsible for developing the current team into a high performing team which is hitting all of its objectives. This role reports into the Procurement Director and will be a key stakeholder within the Thales team. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage and inspire an existing Buying Team placed under his/her responsibility, setting objectives, motivating and developing high performing teams, and ensuring collective and individual responsibilities, authorities and efficiencies. Ensuring the timely availability of materials and services having regard for quality, technical specification, price, contractual conditions and inventory levels through professional management of the external purchasing process and within the parameters of the Thales MRP system. Making sure the Buying Team take ownership and manage the “end to end” procurement activities of all goods and services as required to support the business requirements. End to End procurement activities include but not limited to: RFQ activities Timely placement of purchase orders Order book management including expediting and query resolution On Time Delivery Quality “Product Non-Conformance” (PNC) queries Invoice Queries Ensuring the Buying meet and exceed all business targets, for example on-time delivery / year savings targets etc. Work in a completely joined up manner with the Procurement Function. Due to the volume of goods and services procured there will be a requirement for the Supply Chain Manager to place and manage Purchase Orders on an as and when basis to support the business needs. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Proven Management of small teams Proven record in delivery in a development and manufacturing environment Proven Manufacturing and / or Purchasing experience Knowledge and experience with MRP principals and operation. Proven negotiation skills Good interpersonal skills and stakeholder management Proactive “can-do” mentality Ability to work in a team environment Must have Microsoft Office suite experience Display the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
