importer and distributor of lighting and electrical accessories primarily to the mobile home sector.the company operates from a 30,000 sq. ft. warehouse and offices located in a former textile mill. To support this growth, and to capitalise on the opportunities now available, we are seeking a high calibre person with the skills, experience and ambition to develop, implement and manage Quality Control procedures within the business. In particular, the successful candidate will at least meet the following Person Specification: Educated to good GCSE grades / A level / relevant vocational qualification Have a minimum of 3 years experience working within a Quality Control environment in either the lighting or electrical industry Have a demonstrable good electrical knowledge that would ensure the safety, performance and compliance of our product range Capable and competent with a ‘hands-on’ approach Be literate and numerate with excellent spoken and written communication skills Good organisational skills and a methodical approach to work The ability to pay close attention to detail Good team working skills Working as part of the production team, the key responsibilities will be: Evaluate and test samples of new products selected to assist with technical input prior to stock orders being placed or received Assist with technical product specification sheets on all stocked products, including the production of drawings with measurements and photographs of products Obtain and maintain product specification in line with ROHS compliance Responsible for quality checking and testing of new stock deliveries Document inspection reports and test results. Feedback reports internally and to our suppliers to encourage product improvement Supervise product testing and rectification Advise internally on technical issues, problem solving and product suitability Responsible for returns and new stocks that are placed in quarantine. Ensure these stocks are processed and reworked where necessary, keeping quarantine stock to a minimum Monitor disposal of scrap including WEEE Assist the company with preparation to renew its’ LIA membership Willing to participate in LIA training courses in the future In addition to the above, as part of a small team, the person will be expected to work flexibly, both in time and support for other team members, and adjust to the ever changing priorities across the business as a whole.
