We are looking for a Facilities and Events Manager to work within an educational setting. Experience of working within a school or a similar enviroment is essential for this role. You will have a proven track record of dealing with events, risk assessment, health and safety and general facilities management as well as good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. This role is not your usual 9-5 and requires someone who is willing to work flexible hours. You are also required to have a full UK or EU driving licence. The Role You will have responsibility for all the services which support the running of the Academies premises To prepare reports as required for governors and senior management Managing the promotional and business aspects of all academies events in discussion with Marketing and Communications Manager such as managing budgets, publicising events and negotiating contracts and fees To oversee the setting up of venues and create promotional activity and campaigns for events Manage the schools facilities team members, including liaising regularly with kitchen and catering staff Lead and manage training of the site staff and ensure all staff undertake further training Maintain all schools buildings, grounds and utilities and operate an agreed programme of planned preventative maintenance and to ensure that repairs are properly and promptly carried out To ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and codes of practice and with due regard for the health and safety and welfare of all premises users and visitors including contractors To carry out general handyman tasks To provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on building health and safety matters, carry out termly inspections of the buildings and grounds, investigate site related incidents and prepare reports as required Maintain a record of COSHH assessments and monitor any new hazardous substances being brought onto site To undertake specific projects as requested by the Executive Principal, Head Teachers or Associate Vice Principal Ethos & Business Be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends, as the needs of the Academies dictate. Be part of the call�out rota to respond in the event of an out�of�hours emergency. Be prepared to provide cover, as required, for other members of the team Experience You must have a minimum of 12 months experience in a facilities manager role or similar (worked in a supervisory position) Experience working within an educational setting Experience of risk assessment and health & safety Have and retain a full clean UK/EU drivers' license General office skills, to include basic word, excel and outlook Experience of budget management and managing contract services You must be flexible where necessary, including out of hours working, weekend work when asked and any other reasonable times You must have experience in contract management and negotiation You will have a good understanding of reactive and preventive maintenance and managing both hard and soft contractors You must be competent at basic repairs and grounds maintenance A First Aid qualification is desirable All CVs must be in a Word format.
