Software Validation/Verification Engineer Gloucestershire £40,000 - £45,000 pa plus excellent company benefits, career opportunities and team Obscurant are currently looking to engage with skilled software Verification Engineer to join a highly respectable, global organisation in the Gloucestershire area. In brief, this opportunity will be to test & verify embedded coding that has been produced within the business. You will work alongside an existing team of embedded software engineers, project manager(s) and play an integral part of the Embedded Project Team. Your overall goal is to improve reliability software coded to below 0.5% return rate. The successful Engineer will possess the following key skills; · Proven ability with software validation / verification · Excellent attention to detail · Completer Finisher (Belbin) · Able to work alongside others to ensure effective results towards your goal · Proficient and confident with a variety in script programming languages, Python is highly desirable · Familiar with LINUX · Familiar with C/C++ programming and software interfaces · Familiar with UML use case modelling or similar · Competent when reading and understanding electronic circuit boards · Confident when developing and/or implementing department processing standards · Working alongside the Software architect to improve standards Key areas of responsibility will include; · Devise, implement and conduct manual and automated testing of embedded software · Test harness development and maintenance · Support the wider project by devising efficient software verification test plans · Compile and thereafter maintain test software libraries for future re-use · Adhere to defined software development processes and participate in the evolution of such processes · Evaluate new software tools for use in development processes · Version control of software test tools · Attend customer sites as and when required · Collaborate within a multi-disciplined team for the efficient delivery of new products · Work to the requirements of the wider NPD project management system To be considered for this role please contact Sarah Brewer or click apply This job was originally posted as
