One of the leading FMCG transport and haulage companies based in Carlisle are currently recruiting for a Transport Team Leader to join their expanding team on a permanent basis. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern that covers 7am - 3pm and 10am - 6pm on a 5/7 basis. This is a hands on role that will require the individual to be readily available to get involved with the staff, identifying key areas of improvement and development so that you can drive the business forward. You will be expected to hold regular meetings and briefings with your team to provide them with an opportunity to suggest their own ideas and improvements to current processes and services. The key areas of responsibility will include: Having a clear operational plan - always bearing in mind the bigger picture. Fleet management, maintenance and associated administration. Investigating any service or operational failures to ensure they are understood and prevented in the future. Leading the way In terms of best practice. Ensuring all members of the operation team have clear goals and objectives. Alongside site HR, addressing issues such as disciplinary actions, grievances and absences. In order to be considered for this role you must have an excellent man management style - be encouraging and inspiring to your team. You must be able to identify and evaluate potential risks and develop the appropriate solutions.
