Head office is in York and our clients are based throughout the UK and Ireland. Job Details: We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our experienced Support Desk Team in providing a high quality service to over 1000 customers with Optisoft hardware and software. The ideal candidate will have a passion for computers, be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system environment and have experience of troubleshooting common problems experienced by users. The position is full time and the successful candidate is likely to live in York or the local area. Role Responsibilities: Provide telephone support for customers in difficulty with software or hardware. Log all calls on the company’s support software and update as necessary. Dial in to the customer’s system to provide remote support when necessary. Analyse and resolve the customer’s problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. Document and report ‘bugs’ / ‘change requests’ using the on-line logging system. Organise and / or carry out on-site engineering visits when necessary. Make courtesy calls to customers who have not contacted the Support Desk for more than 6 months. Person Specification: Excellent communications skills and a good telephone manner. Calm, patient and professional demeanour. High degree of self-motivation to learn new skills and update existing ones. Commitment to high quality and a thorough approach to the work. Ability to plan and execute work both independently and as a team member. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ownership of the problem. Reliable and punctual.
