Baltic Training Service currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for IT and software development to join our Hatfield based client as an Apprentice Software Developer. The company is a leading supplier of software for vision testing and screening in the UK. Their portfolio of programs is at the cutting edge of vision assessment and is already in use in over 8000 consulting rooms, hospitals and schools. Located just a 6 minute walk from Welham Green train station and close to several local bus routes, the office is very accessible. Due to their ongoing success and growth they are now seeking an apprentice to join their team. They are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has an energetic approach, and is innovative. The role is a fantastic opportunity for the right person looking to get hands on knowledge and experience with the latest technology. Throughout the apprenticeship you will be given full training and ongoing support to carry out the following duties: Development, integration, installation and testing of new components for our online software. Customisation, deployment and support of client systems, including bug fixing. Design testing strategies to ensure software quality. Propose new approaches, technologies and concepts for review to improve development capabilities. Documentation of technical work. Maintenance and up-dating of client systems. The role will allow you to be involved in the technical design, development and delivery of various software projects and is an amazing opportunity to kick start your career in Software and Web Development, whilst earning a competitive weekly wage and studying towards a valuable and globally recognised qualification. Training to be provided: Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Software Development. Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence. Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Systems and Principles. Level 2 Functional Skills (English, Maths and ICT) Skills Required: Self-motivated. Problem solver. Organised, friendly and approachable. Good communication skills. Personal Qualities: Able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative. Attention to detail. Hardworking and motivated. Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
