The Role This fantastic opportunity is based at London City Airport for Assistant Manager in our City Bar & 127 seater restaurant. You will be managing our restaurant supported by a General Manager, we are looking for confident and tenacious manager who is passionate about the highest levels of customer service, understanding of business class customers and high standards. Able to coach and develop their people to deliver excellence and achieve business growth. Our managers are fully accountable for all aspects of the operation, including all financial and operational results, legal and health and food safety compliance, front and back of house operations. Therefore you'll be monitoring and analysising performance on a daily basis, checking standards, motivating the team, driving sales and controlling costs to achieve profitable growth, whilst ensuring your customers enjoy a fantastic experience, feel welcomed and truly valued and want to return to us. You will be able to build successful relationships with people such as our airport client ensure the strong reputation of SSP. The Details To be successful in this role, you will need: Management experience within a high-volume restaurant environment, experience in running full table service operations, preferably within a high end environment, sales focused, branded operations would be highly advantageous Good understanding and passion for food and wine - wine service/sommelier experience would be highly advantageous. Evidence of having motivated and developed a large team up to 30 staff to deliver excellent levels of customer service, take standards to the next level and therefore drive sales commercial acumen and knowledge of the financial controls required when running a unit - cost control, P&L with proven track record of controlling GP and wages & auditing processes. Given this is an airport environment, flexibility to work shifts including earlies, lates and weekends, including duty management responsibilities across the airport, should be a consideration when applying. All successful candidates are also required to undergo a full 5-year reference and Criminal Record Check to comply with airport security regulations. Additionally, full right to work in the UK (without sponsorship) is also a pre-requisite for applying.
