Purpose: To safely prioritise, organise and deliver cost effective maintenance activities to site assets inline with annual maintenance plan and situation demands. To actively seek and implement new improvement methods. To support Maintenance Excellence roadmap implementation. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to relevant Health and Safety procedures for engineering department. Adhere to quality and product safety procedures. Adhere to legal and statutory regulations. Adhere to environmental management procedures Adhere to Isolation procedures in place Adhere to permits to work Contract Control when required Project Site Champion when required It is the individuals responsibility to keep his / her working environment safe, clean and tidy and adhere to Hygiene standards, procedures and work to a "Clean as you Go " policy. Planned Preventative maintenance: To diagnose faults and to test , repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment and machinery. To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure. To service, adjust and repair machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner. To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance and plan of action for improvements. Carry out Planned and Preventative Maintenace to agreed schedules. To interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery and equipment. Take on any training provided by the company to further enhance the skills. Prioritse and support reactive / breakdown repair through the site SIC process Coaching of operators with asset care tasks Planned Preventative Maintenance: To act as senior engineer on shift: Prioritise Workload on shift Contact OEM's and other suppliers for technical support as and when required Contact OEM's, other suppliers, and other sites within group to source and expedite parts when not available on site Lead shift based problem solving where corrective actions aren't clear Coach and support colleagues in close out of shift based issues To ensure effective handover of information across shifts Attend SIC meetings and act as primary point of contact for production managers CMMS Systems: To use the CMMS system effectively recording information accuratley. To use CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives To use CMMS historical data for fault trending and quick resolution for fault finding Challenge effective use of CMMS by other team members Liase with Engineering Planner and Team Leader on PM schedule Stores/Costs: Use the CMMS stores system to accuratley record all parts movements Ensure team compliance with current stores systems. To assess records and associated costs for repairs To raise appropriate requisition for replacement parts as required. To liase with manufacturers of specialist machinery and equipment Continuous Improvement Support the Site roadmaps for Quality / H S / EMS / Engineering / Autonomous maintenance. Use and support simple 5WHY CI techniques / RCA techniques. Use and support departmental 5s programmes for workshops. Support the department with internal / external audits Skills/Experience: Good interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective planning and organisation, ability to make logical decisions that will resolve potential problems with a positive can do attitude. Capable of prioritising own work load to achieve operational and personal targets. capable of working on own initiatives. PC literate, good mechanical / electrical aptitude Educated to ONC / HNC or equivalent in either mechanical / electrical discipline. Will have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship and have minimum of 5 years in a working maintenance environment.
