REFERENCE: TSLMC0049 LOCATION: Worthing JOB TITLE: Day/Night Care Assistants SALARY & BENEFITS: £Dependent on Experience WORKING HOURS: Shifts include: 08:00-14:00, 14:00-20:00, 20:00-02:00, 02:00-08:00. You can work 6 hour shifts or 12 hour shifts. Within 12 hour shifts, you will receive a 1 hour paid break alongside a meal provided by the home. THE COMPANY: Our client is a Christian residential care home with an additional Dementia unit who have been established for over 30 years. Our client assists in the residential support of elderly, retired Christians who need more support than they receive living at home. The home has a strong Christian ethos, providing activities around the Christian faith, a daily epilogue and devotion to time of worship and prayer. They are now seeking Day/Night Care Assistants to join their team in Worthing. THE ROLE: Our client is seeking Day/Night Care Assistants to join their team in Worthing. Within the role, you will be assisting residents with personal care, supporting them to be as independent as possible. You will be supporting with nutritional needs, recording the care delivered to each resident through an electronic system. Daily activities will be provided to residents which you will be participating in, as well as escorting residents to appointments or personal errands e.g. banking or shopping. You will be assisting in the dining room at meal times, taking part in staff meetings and undertake any training that is being arranged for staff. You will be aware of policies and procedures e.g. fire safety/health and safety and understand the whistleblowing policy. Key Responsibilities to include: Assisting residents with personal care Supporting with nutritional needs Recording the care delivered to each resident Participating in daily activities arranged for the residents Escorting residents to appointments or personal errands Assisting in the dining room at meal times Taking part in staff meetings Undertaking any training arranged for staff Be aware of policies and procedures Understand the whistleblowing policy THE CANDIDATE: To be considered for this opportunity, you must be willing to undertake a DBS check and have a caring and empathetic nature. Previous experience within care and an NVQ in care (or equivalent) would be advantageous, but are not essential. Applicants for this post are required to have a Christian commitment and be able to uphold the Christian ethos of the care home. This requirement is an Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010.
