Performance and Technical Test Manager We’re currently seeking a Performance and Technical Test Manager to join our industry leading client based in Luton, Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a team of two Non-functional test analysts, working with suppliers to deliver a Non-Functional Test capability across complex platforms. Role Purpose The Performance and Technical Test Manager is a key role within the IT Test and QA function to ensure the implementation, integration and on-going maintenance of Test Automation & Performance Test Services across all delivery work streams. The role will be the principle technical subject matter expert defining and implementing Automation streams. The role will ensure the businesses its associated Testing partners adhere to the best Automation and Performance Testing practices across all testing areas. As the Performance and Technical Test Manager you will be expected to continuously and Performance test strategies in support of the Portfolio Test Managers and their respective work improve the quality of Test tooling solutions and artefacts throughout the SDLC. The role also requires skills to influence Release and Test Managers and respective Testing partners and create a seamless reporting structure between all levels of management. This is a key leadership role and requires dedication, commitment and gravitas to engage at all levels of the organisation including outsourced partners and third parties. You should have extensive experience in working with industry standard test tools and test automation tools such as Jmeter and Selenium Web Driver. You will be a highly effective communicator, expected to lead complex initiatives, resolve organisational level issues and present on testing best practice. You will have experience working in a Non-Functional Test Manager / Lead role with strong management, planning and organisational skills and be a champion of quality, accountable for enterprise wide test tooling covering both the UK and Europe as required. Responsibilities • Develop Short/Mid/Long Term Automation & Performance strategies and roadmaps. • Working with Test Managers, Product Owners, Non-Functional testing teams, Delivery Managers and Testing partners in an Agile approach to deliver and maintain an effective Automation & Performance Testing strategies. • Facilitates collaborations between Test work streams, Test Managers and Testing partners from Automation & Performance Testing perspective. • Produce management status reports based on quality metrics and measures. • Produce an effective measurement plans that enables baseline automation and performance coverage and set / meet targets to improve Testing efficiency across all work streams (increase Test automation base). • Govern and manage all work streams & Testing Partners approaches when it comes to Test Tools, Integration, Automation and Performance Testing. • Define, drive and govern standards and best practices in QA and Testing, in particular champion the Automation & Performance Testing practices. • Mentor and develop Automation & Performance Test resources from business partners to ensure that their skills reach the expected levels of competence. • Introduce and implement early Performance Testing concept – Shift performance testing to the early stages of SDLC. • Accountable SPOC for all Automation and Performance testing activities across all delivery work streams • Ensuring that multiple concurrent IT solutions are delivered to standards and agreed quality. • Ensuring quality targets across the enterprise are maintained or exceeded. • Managing Testing Partners to meet and exceed service levels ensuring the best value is provided at all times • Maintaining a strong working relationship between the Business and IT teams. Candidate Profile • BSc/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline • In depth hands on working knowledge of industry standard Automation & Performance Testing tools and solutions. • Previous hands on experience as a Test Lead or Test Manager in Integration, Automation & Performance Testing roles. • Experience in leading the definition and implementation of automation & performance test strategies. • Experience of leading a small team of technical automation or performance leads. • Background in working in Agile environments • Proven experience of working closely with Partners and Product owners/stakeholders • NFRs definition and reviews. • Excellent planning skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously • Performance improvement mind-set • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills This is an exciting company to work for offering a large range of benefits and a collaborative work environment.
