HSE Manager Selby, Yorkshire Permanent Position 50K Basic Fantastic Benefits including: Company Car 10% Bonus Private Healthcare Excellent Pension 33 Days Holidays Excellent training, development and career opportunities Overview Due to an internal promotion, my client, a Global PLC is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Manager. Reporting to the Operations Director the HSE Manager will lead in the development and monitoring of all site policies and procedures relating to HSE, ensuring, as a minimum, compliance with legal and group HSE policies, procedures and guidance. Main Tasks To be responsible for the Safety, Health and Environment management systems on site, ensuring BS OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certification is maintained. To lead in the development and monitoring of all site policies and procedures relating to HSE, ensuring, as a minimum, compliance with legal and group HSE policies, procedures and guidance. To develop a strategic approach to HSE in line with the top level strategic drivers within the company, implementing this each year. To lead and/or be actively involved in the development and direction of the Health and Safety World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Pillar. To lead and/or be actively involved in the development and direction of the Environment WCM Pillar. Responsible for the administration of internal systems, central reporting, and day-to-day KPI maintenance. To continually promote a culture that reflects the company values regarding Health, Safety and the Environment, ensuring compliance with group Principles of Conduct and Action. To ensure that all managers are aware of their responsibilities for HSE and to provide them with the necessary training, advice, support and information to enable them to carry out their roles effectively. To manage the Security contract for Group To work with our designated Occupational Health Provider to ensure our health provision meets the needs of the company. To ensure accident prevention through the implementation and monitoring of a systematic accident reporting and investigation system. To act as an internal consultant and information source on all HSE matters. To act as the key point of contact for statutory bodies, insurers and trade associations on all HSE matters. To be the site expert on the Climate Change Agreement and EU Emissions Trading System, ensuring compliance and minimising any associated costs. To ensure that that the company fulfils all of its commitments held within its Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control permit to operate. Cost centre and budget ownership for HSE disciplines. You Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent) Initially a National Certificate would be acceptable IEMA Associate Certificate in Environmental Management (or equivalent) Initially a Foundation Certificate would be acceptable A thorough practical knowledge of working with Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control, EU Emissions Trading System, and Climate Change Agreement, or equivalent legislation. “Expert user” / custodian of site PTW system and Entropy / IMS software platform.
