We are looking for a highly motivated, intelligent senior .NET software developer who are looking to work on exciting projects using the latest technologies, as we rewrite and/or develop key business systems across the organisation. The role offers excellent career development for the right candidate. Key responsibilities include: Design, code, test and document particularly large, complex or mission critical programmes. Define, plan and justify projects to develop/implement automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Investigate and model business functions, processes, and information flows and data structures, using methodical and consistent techniques. Provide expert advice in some or all aspects of the programming methods, tools and/or standards. Investigate operational requirements and problems, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in information systems, data management, processes/procedures, organisation, and equipment. Specify information flows, processes/procedures, and data objects that will meet the business requirements. Consult with IT specialists in areas such as software engineering, data management, communications, and service delivery and take account of their recommendations. The successful candidate will have: Commercial development experience using Microsoft technologies including C# and SQL Server, with a good understanding of MVC Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming principles (including GOF design patterns) Experience working with TDD on a commercial project Experience with WPF An interest in Agile software development A proven track record in providing high quality work with a commitment to continuous improvement Desirable skills includeadvanced knowledge of ASP.NET MVC and the surrounding technologies, as well as experience in the insurance industry.
