Premier Work Support are working with an established company who have been trading for nearly 100 years, who are looking to open new premises and require a forward thinking experienced logistics/Supply Chain Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the following areas - Managing and allocating staff according to changing needs. Continually growing, improving and developing business performance. Managing delivery times and transportation costs. Managing third party performance. Logging breakdowns and liaising with engineers to resolve. Providing customer support by exceeding needs and expectations through regular contact and meetings. Assisting with all tenders. Allocating and controlling fleet vehicles efficiently to meet operational day-to-day requirements. Assisting with other departments when required and building good relationships with employees throughout the company. Key skills required - Preferably educated to a degree level or equivalent. Extensive knowledge of transport, distribution and logistics (rail, road and sea). The ability to solve problems and make decisions as well as think laterally and offer creative solutions.
