Job Summary: As a Development Scientist, you would take a lead role in planning and delivering discreet packages of technical work to ensure the delivery of New Product Development projects. This will allow you to get involved with technical problem investigation/resolution, manufacturing prototype dressings, conducting performance testing, analysing/interpreting data and making recommendations to NPD management. Core Responsibilities: Technical Investigations Manage and carry out technical investigations for given problems/work streams in projects. These will be carried out to agreed timescales, budget and quality and may be carried out on either the Hull Site or different S&N manufacturing sites/third parties. Prototype and Process Development Manage and conduct the manufacture of development product prototypes or process development manufacturing trials using small or pilot scale equipment. Sample Testing Lead the preparation and submission of samples, including the appropriate documentation package to support stability of EU Class 3 products or equivalent. Process/Outcome Reviews To assess the outcome and implications of practical work (which may or may not have been carried out by the individual) and make recommendations for further action. Material Sourcing Lead the sourcing of new materials/components required for new products, gaining input from other Technologists. Design Control Coordinate design control activities and document project strategy and activities via the design control system. Reporting and Documentation Perform and document all activities in compliance with relevant Quality Systems Standards (especially the writing of protocols, recording of data and reporting of work for inclusion in study files) to a high standard of accuracy and in a timely manner.
