Our Shrewsbury based Automotive manufacturing client is seeking an experience New Product Launch Leader. The primary purpose of this role is to lead cross functional activities with the aim of facilitating the seamless launch of new products and processes at the Shrewsbury site. This role may additionally involve leading in-source and/or outsource projects as well as projects which are contained within Shrewsbury site. · To be responsible for delivery of a project · To lead the Functional Team throughout the Launch Phase of a project: · Ensure employee ownership of new products and processes. · Facilitate all launch activities, including customer and toolmaker / equipment builder liaison. · Ensuring readiness for commissioning (HLTO) and production through Pre-commission meetings. · Evaluate performance against QAF, conduct gap analysis and ensure a robust recovery plan is put in place. · To be the lead contact for the site with the NPI project teams: · Lead Project Steering Meetings with the objective of information exchange and issue resolution, manage the “212” document, generate detailed minutes, document risks / opportunities. · Follow up actions to ensure accountability of those responsible for their completion, escalating to the Department Manager when appropriate. · Accountable for project timing from die delivery to PPAP Phase 3, using Plant Calendar and Commissioning Plan to manage activities. · Ensure completion of documentation required for the Product Delivery Process. · To have ownership of the site commissioning budget, tracking internal and external spend in collaboration with Finance Department, reporting weekly to the Departmental Manager. · To manage product transfers into and out of theShrewsbury site · Liaison with internal & external project teams; customers, competitors, suppliers, and/or other sites. Essential · Demonstrable project management experience. · Extensive experience of a Manufacturing environment. · Proven problem solving skills. · Proficiency with MS Office suite of software. Desirable · Experience in a Tier 1 or 2 Automotive supply environment. Essential level of competency · Strong Health & Safety awareness. · Strength of character to ensure project goals are delivered despite other organisational demands. · Self motivation; ability to act on own initiative. · Self confidence; able to make decisions and stand by them. · Ability to influence people to achieve project goals. · Time management; ability to achieve objectives in a timely manner. · Flexibility to accept a wide range of challenges and objectives.
