Due to internal promotion this precision component manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their established team. The successful Quality Engineer will have a strong metrology background with experience of programming computerized co-ordinate measuring machines. Quality / Metrology Engineer - CMM Programming £28,000 - £32,000 Duties: o Support NPI activities with measurement studies and dimensional checks. o Investigate internal processes and audits to ensure that the company maintains accreditation to TS16949, ISO 9000, ISO 14001. o Integral part of a team ensuring company objectives are achieved. This will involve collating & analysing performance data against defined KPI's. o Support production process establishing root cause of customer issues and improvement actions. o Continual Improvement projects across all activities within the company. Experience required Successful individuals must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a Quality Engineer, Quality Technician or CMM Programmer function, ideally working in a high volume, high quality product manufacturing organization. We are looking for someone who has a creative mind and can come up with innovative ideas to improve product quality, reduce warranty claims & improve reliability. o Well rounded metrology experience including CMM programming experience (PCDMIS ideally but cross training will be provided) and ideally computerized non-contact vision inspection systems. o Business process / continuous improvement experience, ideally to a Green Belt Six Sigma level; o Excellent problem solving skills using structure techniques (8D reports, PPS, Fish bone); o Experience of conduct audits, including closing out audit findings and determine robust corrective and preventive actions; The benefits This is a unique and exciting role for an experienced Quality Engineer or CMM Programmer who is seeking further development within a growing mulit site manufacturing organization.
