Michael Page Finance are currently partnering with a large, well known organisation based in Bristol, who are currently looking to appoint a Financial Services Accountant in to their team, to lead two large transactional processing teams. Client Details Our client is a large, well known organisation based in Bristol, who are currently looking to appoint a Financial Services Accountant in to their team. This post will report directly in to the Head of Finance and lead two large transactional processing teams, with two direct reports and a wider team of 19. Description Key Responsibilities: To lead and manage the teams responsible for the cash and credit management processes, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet all short-term obligations such as supplier payments and monthly payroll runs. To be responsible for managing the year end process for their key functions ensuring all income has been allocated to the correct financial year. To ensure that there are regular reconciliations of all necessary control accounts, investigating and resolving differences where applicable. To deal promptly with complex questions/queries from key stakeholders and identify appropriate resolutions. To line manage a team of staff, including holding staff reviews, managing performance issues, assisting and providing technical advice where required to ensure they are able to fulfil their roles to their maximum potential. To contribute to projects using specialist knowledge and/or lead medium and long term projects within Finance & Planning. To develop new policies and procedures in relation to the Cash Management and Debt collection processes. To contribute to any systems development and process improvement using specialist knowledge and resource planning knowledge to influence future service strategy and plans. Profile The ideal candidate for the Financial Services Accountant will: Be educated to Degree level Qualified accountant and current member of a Professional Accounting body. Evidence of Continued Professional Development. Have breadth and depth of experience in a professional service in a large complex organisation. Excellent IT skills. Experience of analysing and interpreting data, drafting complex reports and delivering briefings to others.
