The BJD Group has been engaged to find a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller working for our client's busy Distribution Centre based near Speke. Salary is circa £45,000 - £50,000 benefits. The Company This role is based in busy Distribution Centre for a fast growing national retailer. The site is operates 24/7 and this role will predominantly be Mon-Fri days. The Role As Financial Controller, you will be part of the senior management team taking responsibility for P&L and cost reporting for a busy retail distribution centre. As a key part of the site Senior Management team you will provide financial support to assist the site in achieving its ultimate goals. Key elements will include providing financial analysis and insight into the operational activities of the business whilst ensuring a robust control environment and balance sheet integrity. There will be interaction with the central finance team in order for Central reporting deadlines to be achieved - weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting The role will interface with the operations, procurement and site logistics teams, ensuring efficient, low cost distribution of products. Reporting daily and weekly P&L & KPI's to site and Supply Chain Director, including commentary to explain operational variances against budget/forecast & prior week Owning the site month end process and balance sheet, ensuring balance sheet is clear Liaising with site budget holders, analyse spend by department and ensure tight control of budgets Constantly challenging costs and advising the Senior Management on cost reductions and profit improvements The Person To be considered you must have several years' Financial Control experience, ideally with a background a fast paced, high volume, wholesale or retail logistics operation. At least 5 years Finance experience in a Retail/Warehouse/Distribution environment. Able to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills Demonstrable track record of delivering continuous improvement, via an engaged team.
