Main Purpose of the role: To be the accountable owner for all web properties and digital communications. This can be broken into: Development of an online services strategy encompassing web (public site, client portal, customer portal and Intranet) and digital communications for the firm. Development and delivery of a programme of online enhancements to support business requirements across the portfolio of; public website, portals, intranet and other online properties as the portfolio develops. Leadership and management of the relationship to ensure consultancy partners deliver the required operational and project service levels for hosted and developed web properties. Delivery of the processes and procedures for operational management of websites Establishment and leadership of a web Governance forum across the firm with senior input from internal stakeholders including Service Delivery, Investments, Policy, IT and Communications as a minimum. Leadership and development of the online services team. Key Responsibilities: Strategy Development of an agreed strategy for Online Services within, including all web services and digital communications which meets wider organisational objectives and business needs. Put in place a programme of user experience design to ensure the organisation keeps the user experience at the heart of all developments. Define and implement a robust web governance framework. Development Develop and deliver a pipeline of web and digital development enhancements and developments ensuring appropriate consideration is given to the end-to-end experience, following user-centric principles to meet audience and channel requirements within allocated budgets. Manage the initial set-up and development of the content management systems, working with the application developers to ensure the system supports the effective implementation of the digital strategy, meets the needs and requirements of the organisation and that the digital communications team are appropriately trained. Oversee the development of the web components, ensure all requirements are captured, recorded and delivered, and champion the relevant components through to delivery. Operational Excellence Support the delivery of effective multi-channel external and internal communications campaigns in line with the agreed communications strategy. Work with strategic partner to ensure all content follows agreed sign off processes, all legal requirements are met and best practice is adhered to, particularly around accessibility. Ensure the websites achieve AA accessibility rating. Design and develop appropriate MI and reporting capabilities, including developing a web “scorecard”. Departmental Leadership Lead, develop and manage the Online Services team and the digital communications manager. Be an active and engaged member of the Communications leadership team. Champion digital engagement across the organisation. Ensure all team members have annual objectives, reviews, personal development and training plans. Stakeholder Management Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other business departments, management teams and partner firms, providing guidance, direction and support on Online and Digital activities. Competencies, skills and experience: Experienced web manager from regulated industry Proven experience of taking service propositions from concept through agile development to live web services Experience of SEO and accessibility and of working across multiple devices, browsers and platform Proven experience of working across business, IT and outsourced suppliers to deliver service excellence Accuracy and attention to detail Able to develop strong working relationships with people at all levels A strong leader and team player with the ability to enthuse and motivate colleagues Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines High degree of integrity and discretion.
