A Logistics giant is recruiting a First Line Manger to join one of their major operations in Staffordshire. As a First Line Manager you will be working within a team of high performing managers within a high volume and large scale warehousing operation within Staffordshire. You will have the following responsibilities: To plan the development of the Warehouse team to ensure that as an operation they have the appropriate skill base and that at the individual team members have the appropriate development plans To manage the operation within specified targets Identify new initiatives that enhance the operation and that add value, whilst identifying possible cost reduction initiatives Introduce clear and robust processes on site that continuously improve the operational team To support senior site management in identifying initiatives that would improve and maintain a great working culture Manage all contracts when on shift, ensuring each achieves their operational and Key Performance Indicators Create a culture where health & safety is paramount on your shift. Provide root cause analysis for all near misses, incidents and accidents on shift Capture all hours worked, for all employees on shift, within the required time lines for the internal customers Quantify all variances to Key Performance Indictors - positive and negative Working with HR and SHE Team to ensure all recruitment, inductions and training is delivered in accordance with policy and procedure Ensure meaningful performance reviews are delivered within the agreed time frames Working with HR to identify talent through the review process and create succession plans for your team members Manage absence, sickness and holidays, conduct and performance in line with the company and site policies and procedures As the First Line Manager you will have the following skills and experience: Able to work well under pressure and will demonstrate the commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility expected within this role. To provide clear leadership qualities and have the ability to maintain motivation of the operations team To be fully conversant of the operational needs and the potential issues that may impact onto the operation To be methodical, apply strong organisational skills as both a person, manager and operational perspective Possess excellent organisational, problem solving and decision making skills Be able to provide commitment to delivering consistent quality and service Must demonstrate the ability to communicate and influence in an open and honest manner with individuals at all levels within the organisation, including the customer, to ensure that customer expectations and KPI's are delivered Demonstrate excellent leadership and team building skills, developing productive working relationships Ability to deliver consistent performance without determent to Health & Safety or quality requirements This company is one of the nations biggest logistics services providers with several key customer accounts spread throughout the UK.
