Qualified Engineer / Mechanical Technician / Lifting Equipment / Material handling – Crewe, Cheshire Up to £34k basic (experience dependent) car or car allowance excellent benefits package Our Client is a leading global Professional Services Organisation, looking to recruit a qualified Engineer / Mechanical Technician (min NVQ3 or equivalent) to service a client portfolio in and around Crewe (ideally the right candidate should be located in the Crewe area itself). As an Engineer you should have a background in maintaining and repairing all types of machinery and accessories that are used for the lifting and/or suspension of Materials to include Mobile Plant Equipment, overhead & mobile Cranes, access platforms, hydraulic work platforms, Loaders, Forklifts etc Package includes a competitive basic salary up to £34k (experience dependent) a car or car allowance (your choice), an excellent benefits package and a stable & developing career environment. The core responsibilities within this qualified Engineer’s remit include; Carry out high quality inspections & surveys on various types of Cranes, lifting machinery, heavy duty plant and materials handling equipment to ensure compliance with current regulatory and statutory requirements. Ensure surveys and inspections are carried out within set time scales and to planned schedule. Maintain individual responsibility for all allocated inspection and technical activities, whilst acting as a fully integrated member of the team. Produce comprehensive inspection reports within daily timescales and to service standards. Liaise regularly with Regional Planning to ensure work schedules are completed on a daily basis, promptly communicating any alteration in schedule to relevant party. Build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that all customer service standards are met. Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the Engineer Surveyor’s engineering discipline and support change as required. Ideally, as a qualified Engineer, you should possess the following skills and attributes; Minimum NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline required. Good understanding and/or working knowledge of LOLER / PUWER / H&S regulatory requirements. 3-5yrs experience of maintaining and repairing heavy material handling equipment/Mobile Plant equipment; good understanding of stress/strain/corrosion on integral parts of said machinery. Understanding of market/industry trends, developments and changes in legislation. A background in client service and delivery, demonstrate exceeding expectations. Hold a current clean UK driving License with no endorsements for the last 6 months. Excellent verbal & written communication skills, good report writing abilities and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
