Recruiter – The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Head of Finance (Deputy Chief Finance Officer) Hindlip, Worcestershire Salary Scale £55,245 to £61,593 Permanent, Full Time The Offices of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia and Warwickshire are looking to recruit a Head of Finance (Deputy Chief Finance Officer) About Us This is an exciting opportunity to work with the successful innovative collaboration of the two Police Forces and the two Police and Crime Commissioners’ offices for Warwickshire and West Mercia and support the delivery of critical public services across four counties. We are developing and implementing our Transformation Programme to reform police services across the four counties. The role of Police and Crime Commissioners is expanding, gradually incorporating more responsibilities, and this role is central in delivering that role efficiently and effectively. About the role The main purpose of the role is to support the Chief Finance Officer in managing the financial performance of both PCC’s. You will also assist the Chief Financial Officer in fulfilling her statutory responsibilities and deputise in her absence. You will provide the Police and Crime Commissioners and senior managers with professional financial and business advice to support them to deliver the best possible service within the resources available. About You We are seeking a professional, motivated individual who holds a full CCAB qualification (CIPFA preferred). You will be adept at creating strategic financial policies, explaining complex financial issues to non-accountants and working in partnership with the public sector, private sector and third sector. You will have a strong understanding of business change principles including a working knowledge of how to effectively manage change and effectively realise benefits. Ideally you will have substantial experience in a professional accounting environment, preferably in a public sector organisation.
