We are now recruiting for a Network and Treatment Operator based in Barnsley. Salary and Benefits £17,158 As a Treatment Operator you will be responsible for operating and optimising Treatment processes which will help us meet our vision of "Taking responsibility for the water environment for good". The role drives compliance and excellent standards in health and safety. Your role will involve working as part of the team to deliver excellent performance and providing waste water treatment and network operations in compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance requirements. The role incorporates a range of tasks including manual operations, analysing samples and operating computer controlled processes and remotely monitoring site performance via telemetry. You will attend various sites including waste water treatment works, pump stations and CSO's on a planned and reactive schedule responding to site alarms and pollution reports, taking ownership of incidents and site performance. You will take personal responsibility for yourself and others with health and safety and control of work to ensure compliance with Yorkshire Water health and safety policies. What skills are we looking for? The successful candidate will need to be practical, but must also have experience of using IT systems as the role will involve capturing all necessary site information. You must demonstrate good problem solving skills and be a confident communicator as your role involves day to day contact with subcontractors and colleagues. A full EU valid driving licence is essential as travel to various sites will be required at times. You must be willing to undertake training in manual handling and confined spaces. Your development will be well supported and technical training will be provided where required. Flexibility is important; working 37 hours per week and you will also participate in an out of hours standby rota and a contractual overtime rota covering out of hours including evenings, weekends and call outs overnight.
