Our Client based in a village on the Hertfordshire/Cambridgeshire bored is seeking to recruit a Consultant Molecular Biologist to work in their Life Sciences team. You should have a PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field who is gifted/passionate molecular biologist who wants to join a truly multi-disciplinary effort, creating instrumentation for biological systems, to serve this exciting global industry. The Role The Consultant Molecular Biologist role offers the opportunity to contribute to some of the newest and most exciting technology advances in the life sciences industry. If you have an interest in developing new tools, methodologies and instrumentation for life-sciences research and diagnostics, this role presents a great opportunity to advance your career. This is a client facing role, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications and Training • PhD or equivalent experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related field. Skills and Experience Essential • Curiosity, imagination and creativity. • Firsthand experience with several current, cutting edge technologies for molecular analysis (e.g. RT-PCR, qPCR, NGS & micro RNA) and cellular research (e.g. CRISPR, stem cell isolation, single-cell genomics). • Fully conversant in related bioinformatics. • Understanding of the use of molecular diagnostics in clinical and consumer environments. • Self motivated with a passion for developing new tools for life science research. • Strong problem solving ability. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Good awareness of commercial trends and opportunities in the molecular biology field. Desirable • Experience or potential for project leadership. • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and regulated development processes. This job was originally posted as
