This is an office-based, hands-on role in Basingstoke. Projects will range from simple static websites to enterprise level B2B eCommerce platforms. Many of our solutions are customer facing, but we also develop in-house solutions to support our EDI, Sales, Finance, Warehouse, Purchasing and Customer Services teams. The Web Team provides services to other companies within the group so collaboration with and occasional travel to other sites may be required. Agile Development is key to the success of our projects. There is significant opportunity to pick up new skills and knowledge. Essential Skills PHP5 and at least one mainstream PHP Framework MySQL MVC and OOP HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript jQuery Desirable Skills AJAX Yii or Yii2 PHP Framework Version Control using Subversion or Git. XML Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proven hands-on working experience in Development Frontend Web Solutions Backend Web Solutions Form handling Relational Databases A PHP Framework such as Yii, Symphony, CodeIgniter, CakePHP or Zend Bootstrap3 or similar Responsive CSS Framework Candidates with some experience of the following would be an advantage Integration with Payment Gateways and other APIs SOAP or REST Web Services Apache and Linux Microsoft .Net and/or Java Google Analytics management Wordpress CMS and WooCommerce GitHub Magento OutSystems Role: The role requires the successful candidate to Be responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle. Take ownership of solutions from inception, through to delivery, maintenance and decommissioning. Contribute to several concurrent projects. Develop high quality code as required by the Web Development Manager and Solutions Architect. Support operations, performing bug-fixes, enhancements and maintenance as required. Learn and familiarise themselves with existing code and platforms and take ownership. Deliver solutions within agreed timescales General skills required include Ability to communicate to a high standard, both written and verbally. Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams. Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to use own initiative to solve problems. Ability to proactively drive process improvements. Interview Process: Telephone interview and at least one Face-to-face interview. Candidate will be asked to work through one or two technical scenarios to demonstrate their approach to problem solving and collaboration, and their communication skills.
